The Larry H. Miller Dealerships located in Colorado are excited to be able to make a difference during this back-to-school year. We’ll be partnering with Denver’s 9NEWS as well as Volunteers of America for the “Stuff for Students” school supply drive!
During the month of August, our seven Colorado locations will be helping to collect school supply donations to be given to the local districts. There are 15 Colorado school districts, and it would surprise many to know how many young students are in need of basic school supplies to get through the year. In Denver alone, more than 2,000 students are homeless, and nearly 66,000 of 90,000 attending public school are on free or reduced lunches.
It’s estimated that the average cost of school supplies for a year is about $161.27 for an elementary student, $198 for middle school students, and around $900 for high school students. Each Larry H. Miller Dealership in Colorado will act as a donation collection point for supplies such as paper, pencils, pens, scissors, rulers, calculators, folders, etc. Volunteers of America will then collect these donations, sort them, and distribute them to the 15 Colorado school districts.
We’re proud to be a part of this, and invite local residents to visit our Colorado Dealerships and submit a school supply donation of any size.
