A performance-tuned Ford Mustang isn't supposed to be environmentally responsible, right? Right?? According to a new review from AutoGuide, Ford may have found a hole in the space-time continuum with its 2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Fastback Premium model. The EcoBoost Fastback features a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pumps out some serious power while delivering respectable fuel economy numbers.

640 × 480?

As AutoGuide reports, a diet of 93-octane premium fuel resulted in output of 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque from the little engine that could. With a six-speed automatic and 3.55 limited-slip rear-end, the Mustang posts 21 mpg city and 32 mpg highway, or a combined 25 mpg. The car accelerates nicely without hitting the redline, given it a more relaxed demeanor than some its peers (hello, Camaro).
