In an effort to meet the continually changing needs of its law enforcement customers, Ford Motor Company has announced it is extending its Special Service Vehicle Package to the 2016 F-150. Available in XL trim for either SuperCrew or SuperCab configurations customers can choose from a variety of options in order to receive a vehicle that best fits their needs.
The F-150 Special Service Vehicle features the following options:
- Choice of 5.0-liter V-8 or high-torque 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine
- 4x4 or 4x2 drivetrain
- Seat section deletion provides more space for customization
- Vinyl flooring and seating allows for quick cleanup.
- A 240-amp alternator replaces the stock unit to accommodate for extended idle times.
“We offer a whole family of police vehicles,” said Arie Groeneveld, Ford chief program engineer for police vehicles. “Our lineup aims to fulfill the unique needs of law enforcement officers, and our F-150 Special Service Vehicle is an extension of that offering. This vehicle definitely lives up to its Built Ford Tough reputation.”
