Sarah Starkey Named One of Utah’s 30 Women to Watch
Sarah Starkey, vice president and general counsel for Larry H. Miller Dealerships, was named one of Utah Business Magazine’s 30 Women to Watch for 2018. The special section celebrates Utah’s most successful and influential women as selected by their peers.
Starkey, who joined the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies eight years ago as a staff attorney, provides a broad range of legal services for the dealership group, which includes more than 60 dealerships in seven states. She also oversees the compliance, risk management and customer service teams. Starkey was recognized by the magazine for her integral role in overseeing the acquisition of more than 20 dealerships over the last several years, including the company’s largest single acquisition of seven dealerships in 2013.
Starkey was also acknowledged for her community service and leadership. Her passion for helping underprivileged girls feel empowered led her to positions on the boards of Girl Scouts of Utah and The Road Home. Starkey is also president of the Women Lawyers of Utah, executive committee chair for the Gail Miller Women’s Leadership Group and serves on the advisory board for the University of Utah College of Social and Behavioral Science.
Starkey graduated cum laude from Southwestern Law School’s SCALE program, an accelerated two-year J.D. program, and received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah. She was recognized by Utah Business as one of Utah’s 40 Under 40 in 2015.
Starkey will be honored on May 22 at a ceremony at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gail Miller, owner and chairman of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, will deliver a keynote address at the event.
