Navy Veteran and Mom Receives ‘Recycled Ride’ as gift from GEICO and Larry H. Miller Dealerships Collision Center

October 17th, 2018 by

Krista Bloom, wife and mother of two autistic children, is a disabled Navy vet who suffers from PTSD and hearing loss following her years of military service. Her husband, Luke, is also a disabled vet following his Air Force service. The family lives in the Boise, Idaho, area.

The family’s vehicles have been in a continual state of repair and on the verge of breaking down due to the family’s limited income. The refurbished vehicle which was presented to the family on October 17 will relieve a tremendous amount of stress and anxiety for the family. Krista will be able to keep family medical appointments, and she can also spend more time volunteering for school and church programs to benefit her children.

GEICO donated the vehicle through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program for individuals or families that may need a helping hand. Vehicles also go to charitable organizations to aid their members. The Larry H. Miller Dealerships Collision Center volunteered company time and labor to refurbish the vehicle to a like-new condition for the Bloom family.
