Throughout the month of October, Larry H. Miller’s Spokane, Washington dealerships are collecting cold weather items, including mittens, scarves, boots and hats, for individuals and families in need in Spokane. Members of the public may bring in new or gently used winter items to any Larry H. Miller dealership location in Spokane or the Spokane Valley.

“The temperature is already beginning to drop and there are many individuals in our community without essential cold weather clothing,” said Vonn Jones, general manager, Larry H. Miller Hyundai Spokane. “Let’s help our neighbors stay warm this winter by donating new or gently used scarves, mittens, socks and boots.”

Each dealership has partnered with a local nonprofit that serves the community:

  • LHM Honda Spokane will give donations to the Union Gospel Mission
  • LHM Toyota Spokane is collecting items for Mission Community Outreach
  • LHM Hyundai Spokane will donate to the Spokane Valley Partners
  • LHM Lexus Spokane will give their collected items to the Salvation Army

“We have been short on socks, and there is a great need for gloves. We currently have 50 children in house, and as it gets colder, little ones often don’t have proper attire. Their little hands are freezing,” said Diane Hutton, director, Union Gospel Mission Crisis Shelter for Women & Children. “Warm winter items in all sizes – for men, women and children – are greatly appreciated this time of year.”
